Through the inspiration of a 12 year old boy named Austin Ajimura (see "The Book" section for details), this Children's Storybook Project was born.
The premise and mission for this project is 3-fold:
1) to help make dreams come true
2) to promote and perpetuate charitable giving
3) to make a difference
The motivation for the project is due to my talented sister, Lisa, who is no longer with us, but who left a legacy of inspiration, laughter, joy, hope and aspiration through her award-winning works. She had so many more dreams and goals yet to accomplish, unfortunately, she left this earth, before she could see them come true.
One of her dreams was for "On Dragonfly Wings" (an inspiring and heartfelt musical she collaborated with Roslyn Catracchia, which was chosen for the 12th Annual ASCAP Foundation/Disney Musical Theatre Workshop in Los Angeles in 2007) to someday play on Broadway or made into an animated screenplay, and another was to have 'Ohi'a Productions (her and cousin Michael Furuya's non-profit organization), become self-sufficient to be able to continue its educational and creative programs which benefits thousands of children and families.
I have several goals for this project, and one of them is to be able to help make some of my sister's dreams come true, and to help ensure that children, like Austin, continue to pursue their dreams and passions, to someday see theirs come true, as well.
Originally, my intention for this project was to produce many series of inspirational, entertaining and educational DVDs and to eventually add books to the collection, however I have decided to license the "Little Star" brand (and any future brands) to companies who can produce/market/promote and take this project's intent to the next level better than I.
So now, instead of a portion of the profits (since there will be no profit from sales), a portion of our share of the royalties will go towards charities (two charities that are Recipients for this "Little Star" brand, Rett Syndrome and Neurofibromatosis, have afflicted children of those very close to me).
Mahalo for taking interest in this Children's Storybook Project.
Warmest regards,

This project is dedicated to celebrating my sister's life, her memory, and all the wonderful contributions that she made to the lives of many people and the community. She was an awesome lady, and I miss her so very much. 'Til another day, Lisa!!
