The first layer
of the background is a piece of dark green card stock. The next
layer is stamped with a "burlap" background using one
side of the Timeless Images Texture Cube #1 and "cocoa"
pigment ink. The sunflowers were stamped with #684-F Sunflower/Leaf
set using markers and highlighted with watercolors to achieve
the shading. Sunflowers and leaves were then cut out and glued
on over the burlap texture (some of the sunflowers can be cut
in half since only half will be showing). Next, another layer
of the dark green card stock was added.
The "shadow
box" layer was stamped using Design-A-Frame! #DF-002. This
stamp set includes both the sunflower outer frame stamp, and
the inner divider/border stamp allowing you to create custom
size compartments. First, the outer frame was stamped on speckled
ivory card stock and embossed with "chocolate" (brown)
Magic Dust embossing powder. Next, the items in the shadow box
were created (see next paragraph) and arranged to determine where
the "dividers" needed to be placed. The inner dividers
of the shadow box were then stamped and embossed with "chocolate".
The shadow box was then water colored and cut out with a deckled
edge scissors.
In the top two
of the four sections of the shadow box, a rectangular piece of
the burlap texture (made with Texture Cube #1 and "cocoa"
pigment ink) was cut out with a deckled edge and layered on to
make a background for the "heart in box" item and the
verse. The heart in box at the top was stamped using one side
of the Mini-Quilt Cube #1. The verse (#741-C) was stamped using
two different colors of marker to create the mottled effect.
It was then cut out with a deckled edge and attached over the
background. The heart in the bottom left section is simply a
scrap of paper cut in a heart shape with deckle edge scissors
and washed on the edges with watercolor. The goose is stamp #488-D
and was stamped using markers, then cut out and attached in the
lower right section. |
